Treatment

The first appointment takes 60-70 minutes, where a full case history is taken along with a  physical assessment  before discussing a care plan and commencing treatment if appropriate.

The case history includes a detailed account of current and past symptoms while the physical assessment includes orthopaedic and neurological testing to help identify the condition. If possible treatment will be done through clothing (please wear/ bring loose fitting garments,  shorts or leggins for example)  but frequently outer garments need removing and gowns are available to change into if required.

The working diagnosis will be discussed and if appropriate and agreeable, a treatment plan and chiropractic treatment will follow. In the event further tests are needed or if referrals are required, communication with your GP may be needed.

Further Visits

Further visits take approximately 30-40 minutes when progress and response are closely monitored.  The amount of treatments needed will vary depending on the condition as previously mentioned, but this will be constantly assessed and discussed at each visit when Maurice will be happy to answer any questions or queries. Purely as a guide, an average of 2-6 treatments may be needed but this will be discussed after examination on the first visit. With constant monitoring, the time between visits typically increase as treatment progresses and some individuals frequently continue to come every few months as a preventative measure after their condition has resolved.

Spine Check

If you are unsure whether your condition can be treated by chiropractic care, or you just want to check out the clinic and practitioner, you are welcome to come for a 10 minute discussion and brief assessment called a “Spine Check”. Because of the limited time of this visit, it won’t be possible to make a diagnosis but it may be possible to give treatment advice or subsequent referral.
